Hannah Henry Day – Proclamation Invite – Ridgely Town Hall 7pm on April 1st, 2019

In 1939, Hannah Henry was transferred to the Ridgely Elementary School in the Trinity subdivision of Ridgely. When the schools were integrated in the 60s, she was the first African American teacher assigned to the previously all white Ridgely elementary School where she taught until she retired in 1975.  On April 1st, the Town will officially proclaim April 8th, 2019. as ‘Hannah Henry Day’, when she celebrates her 106th birthday.    Click to view invite.
