Caroline County Historic Homes Tour – May 17, 2025
The Caroline County Historical Society invites visitors to the Sweet Caroline Historic Homes Tour on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Caroline County, known as the “Green Garden County” of the Eastern Shore, is rich in agriculture, history, and architecture. This event offers a unique opportunity to explore five of the county’s most historic properties … hidden gems, some dating back to the 1700s.
This is the first historic home tour of this magnitude in Caroline County. Many of these homes have not been open to the general public in decades. It is a self-driving tour which includes: Castle Hall in Goldsboro, Marble Head in Ridgely, Knotts Walsh in Denton, as well as Memory Lane and Potter Hall in Williston.
The five properties on the tour features seven historic buildings to include a working gentleman’s farm from 1803, the late JOK Walsh’s personal home, a colonial/federal period mansion and shipping port, the Hardcastle family legacy home, an Italianate Victorian home, an historic Black school and an early 1800’s log cabin.
