Best Of The Best 2024
To celebrate the best businesses and organizations in the area, the Star Democrat and APG Media of Chesapeake began accepting nominations from the local community for their favorite companies in more than 180 categories on June 24th, 2024. The Star Democrat serves the Eastern Shore Maryland counties of Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne and Talbot.
During the Nomination Round (June 24-July 21), the Town of Ridgely nominated the Ridgely Historical Society, a Chapter of the Caroline County Historical Society in the category of best Non-Profit/Charity Organization. Enough support was received to place the Ridgely Historical Society within the top five vote getters and they advanced to the Voting Round.
During the Voting Round (September 9-27), the Ridgely Historical Society received enough votes to place within the top three. The top three votes getters were invited to the awards ceremony at the Kent Island Resort on November 21st, 2024, where the leading vote getter was announced in every category.
On November 21st, it was announced that the Ridgely Historical Society, a Chapter of Caroline County, Historical Society that also includes members of the Hannah Henry Circle, were the top vote getter in the Non-Profit/Charity Organization category of the 2024 Chesapeake Best of the Best Contest.
